A Riemann–Hilbert Approach for the Novikov Equation
نویسندگان
چکیده
We develop the inverse scattering transform method for the Novikov equation ut − utxx + 4uux = 3uuxuxx + uuxxx considered on the line x ∈ (−∞,∞) in the case of non-zero constant background. The approach is based on the analysis of an associated Riemann–Hilbert (RH) problem, which in this case is a 3×3 matrix problem. The structure of this RH problem shares many common features with the case of the Degasperis–Procesi (DP) equation having quadratic nonlinear terms (see [Boutet de Monvel A., Shepelsky D., Nonlinearity 26 (2013), 2081–2107, arXiv:1107.5995]) and thus the Novikov equation can be viewed as a “modified DP equation”, in analogy with the relationship between the Korteweg– de Vries (KdV) equation and the modified Korteweg–de Vries (mKdV) equation. We present parametric formulas giving the solution of the Cauchy problem for the Novikov equation in terms of the solution of the RH problem and discuss the possibilities to use the developed formalism for further studying of the Novikov equation.

A more accurate half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality with the best possible constant factor related to the extended Riemann-Zeta function
By the method of weight coefficients, techniques of real analysis and Hermite-Hadamard's inequality, a half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality related to the kernel of the hyperbolic cosecant function with the best possible constant factor expressed in terms of the extended Riemann-zeta function is proved. The more accurate equivalent forms, the operator expressions with the norm, the rever...

Exact solutions of differential equations of physics are very important for the understanding of various physical phenomena. The generation and application of new methods of calculation of exact solutions was and is actual task in all times for human scientific civilization. In the last two decades the Inverse Spectral Transform (IST) method has been generalized and successfully applied to vari...
متن کاملOn A Riemann-Hilbert Approach to Few Cycle Solitons in Nonlinear Optics
A new integrable nonlinear equation recently derived in the domain of non linear optics is analysed in the light of Riemann-Hilbert problem. Explicit soliton solutions for the equation are obtained in case of both single and two soliton regimes. Our analysis shows how to use the Riemann-Hilbert procedure with or without utilising the symmetry of the Lax pair. c © Electronic Journal of Theoretic...
متن کامل$L_{p;r} $ spaces: Cauchy Singular Integral, Hardy Classes and Riemann-Hilbert Problem in this Framework
In the present work the space $L_{p;r} $ which is continuously embedded into $L_{p} $ is introduced. The corresponding Hardy spaces of analytic functions are defined as well. Some properties of the functions from these spaces are studied. The analogs of some results in the classical theory of Hardy spaces are proved for the new spaces. It is shown that the Cauchy singular integral operator is...
متن کاملNoncommutative Monopoles and Riemann-Hilbert Problems
The Bogomolny equations for Yang-Mills-Higgs monopoles follow from a system of linear equations which may be solved through a parametric Riemann-Hilbert problem. We extend this approach to noncommutative R and use it to (re)construct noncommutative Dirac, Wu-Yang, and BPS monopole configurations in a unified manner. In all cases we write down the underlying matrix-valued functions for multi-mon...
